A Visit

We had a visit from this hawk who sat out in the tree by our roof deck for at least 10 minutes. This is the tree that the squirrels use all the time and a squirrel actually started to climb up before it noticed the hawk and turned around quickly. I'm not sure but I think it was a Coopers hawk?

Hello,
I like seeing the Hawks but I do feel sorry for the little birds.
It does look like a Cooper's hawk! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend.

I think this is a Cooper's hawk, but it could be a Sharp Shinned Hawk. About the only way for me to tell them apart is size. The Sharp Shinned is smaller, and has a more square tail. How great to get this portrait of this beautiful Hawk.

Impressive bird. I wonder what became of our Peanut, the squirrel seems to be gone...

Hello :)
I saw a hawk this morning. I was trying to get it in focus in a tree some distance away, but then it took to the sky and flew away. You win some you lose some, but you had a great view of this hawk near your deck. I'm glad the squirrel saw the hawk in time to retreat to a safer place. Great picture of the Cooper Hawk, I wish I had seen it.
Enjoy your weekend
All the best
Sonjia.

A great sighting. I love spotting the ones we don't see all that often.
