Cold Diver
Last weekend the Yorkville neighbourhood hosted its 9th Annual Icefest in the commercial area along Cumberland St and the adjoining Yorkville Park. The theme this year was 'Heat Wave' which seemed to influence a lot of the artists to create mermaids and tropical birds but I quite liked this diver floating above some coral along with a tortoise companion and a few fish. It was a cold day but the sun was strong so some of the details were starting to soften.

I love the ice sculptures Pat, but all that work.. melting, oh la!
I love it, anything tropical is OK by me:) Though I too think of all that work, just to have it melt...
Amazing what people can do with just frozen water.
That is a beautiful sculpture. I'm so amazed at this craft.
Amazing piece of work that
Very impressive!
so cool! figuratively and literally!
Wow. Such artistic skill only to last for a short while.
The craftmanship is stunning!
Oh that's great! "Heat Wave', haha, for one of the coldest winters on record!
Good thing it's staying COLD.
What a theme! :-) This one is so lovely, it looks like crystal!
Great theme for an ice sculpture, I love it when the ice is this translucent.
LOVE it!
Ice sculptures seem to be popular up in them thar parts. Hard to imagine you can leave ice outside and it doesn't melt!
This is so well done! Some very talented artists participate in these craftings!
What a cool work, I saw the picture and at the same time the image of a diver and colourful fish came to my mind! ;-)
I wish I had half the talent of these sculptors!
Really cool! Wonderful.
I love ice sculptures.
