I had seen very few Monarch Butterflies this year until a week and a half ago and then spotted this one enjoying some Phlox flowers. Then a few days later I spotted the largest number of monarchs I have ever seen in one place (more than 20), all around some Liatris (Blazing Stars) plants. I must go back to this location and see if I can get some pics before all the Monarchs head south.

This is beautiful. I wonder if those monarchs were on their migration path.
Beautiful butterfly and flower. Great capture.

Oh nice! Thank you! Aloha Pat
The Monarchs may have already started heading south. I have seen a few today, but not as many as a few years ago. I think they are having a hard time.
I keep looking for monarchs here but with little luck.
Great focus on the markings of the butterfly
