Rural No More
This is St Stephen-in-the-Fields Anglican church, so named because when it was first built in 1858 it was in the countryside well outside the city. Now it is in the middle of the city in Kensington Market, as the city has grown up around it. The Gothic Revival building burned in 1865 and had to be rebuilt and today with a very small congregation, the building has been split in half with one part used for worship and the other half used for church and community services. This church is very well-known for its outreach programs for the homeless and many other worthy activities. It is hard to catch a shot of it with all the trees, even in winter.

It's a wonderful old church Pat, I do like the Gothic style of architecture. It seems to be right at home surrounded by it's more modern surroundings.
I really do like the Gothic look to this place. Interesting to think about how the city has grown up all around it and it's still there dominating the neighborhood. I see what you mean about the trees. When those trees are full, it would be completely hidden back there.
