Silver Building
The red brick building in this shot was built on King St W in 1882 for the Toronto Silver Plate Company and the silverplating operations continued here for many years under various names. It was then used for various commercial operations and was given heritage designation in 2010. The building and the properties around it were purchased for the Fashion House Condos a few years ago and the Silver Building was totally restored and incorporated into the complex with its main floor being occupied by a restaurant. It always had good bones but now it looks beautiful after all the work done on it and the glass condos frame it nicely.

It's a lovely building Pat and pretty old for a youngish city like Toronto, its the same here in Perth, we have to look after our old buildings :)

I love the way they've built the new structure and blended it with the older one. I love seeing that happen.
Quite a contrast in buildings. There's an old restaurant here that has that contrast against the glass and steel behind it that this reminds me of.
I'm kind of a brick and stone, old and weather worn, a stately kind of girl..... the new modern stuff, even in all it's sparkle gets old real quick for me.
I'm always curious how these redos look on the inside.
