A Modern Church

I pass by this church fairly often and always admire the lovely modern style it has, especially the steeple. This is St Ansgar Lutheran Church and I think it was built in the 1970s but couldn't find any info on the architect.

Modern, I'll say so!

It IS modern Pat, we have quite a few in Perth also, I like that they still have to use the symbolic cross just to show that they actually ARE a church :)

It is a very striking building, one that would look comfortable around these parts.

I'd say it looks like a fire station. Maybe it is in a way.

Extremely modern. It looks more like a School Building than a Church. At least to me it does, others may disagree.

A very modern looking church, so different to ours...

Mid-century modern and quite a familiar style to those involved in the Lutheran Church in the 50s-70s. St. Ansgar was a German cleric noted primarily for trying to convert the heathen Swedes. I'd guess this church is part of the ELCA in this country.

It is quite nice, but, for pure architectural interest, I would take the older and more traditional ones. But, as you know, I am a stodgy traditionalist.
