An Old Airfield

I love these signs put up by Heritage Toronto with info about local history. This one has had a bit of fading and paint peeling but you can still read it I hope. My Mum grew up near this area and always talked about how it was an airfield when she was a kid but it is now full of houses and is in the middle of the city. I'll show you some of the homes they built for veterans tomorrow.

It is always fun to read these heritage signs to see what happened here, and then disappeared.

There has been a lot of history made at this site. In my mind, I was trying to correctly pronounce the name "Trethewey".

It’s fascinating to learn about the history of old airfields and how they’ve transformed over time. The Heritage Toronto signs are such a great way to keep local history alive. Your mum’s stories must add a personal touch to the area’s rich past. Looking forward to seeing the homes built for veterans!

Hey there! 🌟 I enjoyed reading your post. By the way, I recently wrote about something interesting. Check it out here: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/08/many-senior-citizens-still-follow-outdated-aspirin-advice.html. Would love to hear your thoughts!
