The Craftsman

I am going to continue the mural theme while I attempt to get back onto North American time and get into my holiday pics! This mural is actually on the other side of the building from yesterday's pic and is so unlike it in style. It is really well done and seems to be done by a commercial mural company rather than an individual artist. Love the concentration of this traditional craftsman as he weaves his nets.

This mural shows depth quite well. I like it.

Have you figured out why Toronto has so many murals. Between Toronto and Oakland, I think you have the market on murals cornered.

Wow, I'm away behind in commenting on the blogs I follow, so I caught up on everything back to the Casa Loma squirrel. Love the Dutch carrier-bike, saw lots of them over there, and really enjoyed the bike murals, but I love this mural best. Traditional craftsmen (craftspersons, I guess I should say) are becoming so rare in today's world, it's wonderful to see an artist pay homage to one of them.

It doesn't matter if it is a commercial mural, because the craftsman was beautifully honored. ;-)

I (like LĂșcia) do not have a problem with commercially driven art, as you say it is well done. I would be happy to have a similar work adjacent to any place I worked or lived.
