Taking Back The Street
Somehow I missed posting any pics from the "Salsa On St Clair" street festival which took place in July and for 2 days over a weekend closed several blocks of St Clair Ave to traffic including the streetcars. The festival is a celebration of Latin culture and includes lots of food booths, Salsa dancing and great entertainment. As you can see there were lots of people on the street, even on the streetcar tracks, but I'm not sure how many of them go into any of the local businesses. Hopefully they return to the neighbourhood later to shop. Another pic tomorrow.

It is a party!
Looks busy. And everyone's looking at something..?
Looks like the event drew a big crowd. I'd be heading to those food booths if I was there.
This is a fine street scene of the people enjoying the special occasion. Nice one.
Not sure I would like it, but it would be a source of many photo-ops...
Not sure how the streetcar is going to make it through that crowd.
I like it when streets are free of traffic!
It certainly looks like quite a crowd!
that's neat.
I love days without cars! The silence is wonderful and this looks like it was a super event!
Now this is something I could enjoy and sink my teeth into - especially in re the food booths!
I like events that get so many people together. We have a street fest in our neighborhood this weekend and I'm looking forward to it!
so it means it was very popular with people
What a fun weekend, I'm sure. I'd be taste testing all the food stuffs!!!
Love the gate image and the vines on the home in your previous post also!!
What are we all looking at? I suspect you will show us tomorrow. . . .

Street festivals are always fun.
If you are like me, you are always finding that you have more pix than days to show them. But, I resist starting up another blog for the overflow.
Quite the crowd.
Salsa! Aimee would have been there in a flash Pat, she loooves to dance :) Looks like a popular event, I'm hoping to go to something similar tomorrow.
Very well attended!
