Inherit The Earth

This lovely mural was spotted in a laneway behind some commercial properties. A thoughtful statement runs along the bottom. The only artist info is CT up in the right corner.

Laneway Flowers

I happened upon these gorgeous flowers just as the artist was putting on some finishing touches and taking plastic off the windows. You can see him up a small ladder to the right. This is yet another laneway house although this is all new construction unlike some of the others in the 'hood. The artist is Chris Perez and you can see more of his work if you click his label below.

Streetcar Art

When the streetcar line along St Clair was updated, artists were commissioned to design art for the top edge of each stop. This one called "Scenic Routes" by artist Carlo Cesta was installed at the stop near Avenue Rd. It is said to resemble vines growing along the top. I like it.

"Reclining Figure"

This bronze sculpture titled Reclining Figure by artist John Fillion was installed in front of an office tower on St Clair Ave W in 1967 and continues to be one of my favourite sculptures in the city. It is so powerful.

Morning Glory

I love Morning Glories so was pleased to come upon this beautifully painted utility box. Even with all the shadows from trees it was a stand out. The artist for this one is K Roberts.

Spring Flowers

This mural on a garage reminded me of the flowers of spring which we are seeing now. And they have added a little blue raccoon as a tribute to the huge population of these creatures that we have in the city. Not blue in real life of course. The artist is Ellesart.

Busy Times

Spring is a busy time for beavers as they repair any winter damage to their lodges and start new construction so it was timely that I came upon this mural a couple of weeks ago. The artist for this one is Candypress.

Scary Eyes

I spotted this slightly scary beast in a local laneway. There have been a lot of coyote sightings and encounters all over the city and I think this is what the creature is meant to be. I have been lucky not to see any of them. The artist info is ANART45M.

Tank Mural

This mural was painted on a tank at an art centre in San Miguel De Allende. The centre was located in an old textile mill that was turned into spaces for studios and galleries. I visited a couple of times on my holiday. The artist was mjmuralart.

Pretty Lady

There are murals all over San Miguel De Allende and this is one I discovered on my first afternoon there. This beautiful face would be a fine welcome home each day. The artist is Erick Mota.

Bird In The Snow

I was walking along the street and happened to notice a bird along the wall along a laneway so of course headed down to check it out. The bird poking out of the snow turned out to be a beauty painted by the artist Alfalfa. I love it.

Scene From Past Times

This door was found just along the laneway from the mural I showed last week of the kids playing in a snow storm. It feels to me like a scene that might have been in the lane years ago. The art is Brother Moises again.

Kids

I spotted this mural along a laneway back in September and at the time thought it looked like snow falling down onto kids at play. Now with all the snow we have had it seems quite suitable. I really like the colours. The artist for this one is Brother Moises.

Mural

This large mural was spotted on the side of an alternative school along Bloor St W. It commemorates the signing of a treaty between groups of indigenous peoples many years ago. The list of artists is on the left side.

In The Tropics

Continuing with the winter search for colour I chose this tropical lady for today's mural. She may be in the tropics but she took a moose and a beaver with her. The artist for this one is Just J Art.

Flowers In Winter

Now that winter is here and the cold has killed off all the outdoor flowers it would be nice to arrive home to this garage. A bit of colour on these dull days is a welcome sight. The artist for this one is Jasmine Vanstone.

Pink Raccoon

I loved this pink raccoon as soon as I saw it. Toronto is known to have a huge population of these furry beasts so it is quite suitable for one to turn up on a mural. The artist for this one is Colin Tea.

The Reveal

This is the finished piece that the young woman was working on in yesterday's post. It looks as if the woman in the mural has been harvesting from her small crop that was growing by her elbow and is now going to relax with a cuppa. The artist for this one is Ashton Night Hawk.
