Dinner Party?

Recently I stumbled upon a group of artists painting murals on garages along a laneway and one of the artists was Elicser. I talked to him for a few minutes while he worked but went back a few days later to take a shot.. It feels like there are messages in this one but I'm not sure. You can see more of his work by clicking the Elicser label below.

Playing With Blocks

This large mural was spotted on the side of a house that faces Dundas St. The large figures playing with blocks are by Elicser but there are also credits for Media H, Sight, & Jax.Eve. This location seems to have a rotating mural most of them done by Elicser.

A Little Sewing To Be Done

This is the part of the mural to the right of Monday's shot. I like how the artist has included the door into the mural and has left the original sign from the plumbing company that was in the building previously. I'm not sure what the sewing refers to but possibly there had been some clothing made here at some point in the past.

Up On The Roof

This is another section of the mural that I showed you yesterday. This part is to the left of yesterday's pic. I wish I could have got the whole thing in one shot but it was way too long. These buildings are typical of the storefronts found here. Another section of the mural tomorrow.

Tarragon Village

The artist Elicser recently completed a really long mural in the Tarragon Village neighbourhood which is a small neighbourhood named after the Tarragon Theatre which is right beside this building with the mural. The mural itself is really long so I will show you more tomorrow and the next day. Elicser has populated his mural with people showing the diversity of our city. The mural also has a Sight signature which may refer to the person who did the lettering.

Terra Again

This is a shot of the same garage door as yesterday's post but taken from the other side of the doorway so that you can see the two men playing dominos. I didn't want to leave them out. Once again the artist is Elicser.

More Murals Found

As I looked along the building in yesterday's post I discovered another small door as well as this large shipping door all beautifully decorated by the artist Elicser. It turns out that the doors all belong to Terra Nova which is a retirement home. The murals are all quite suitable for that don't you think. One more shot tomorrow.

Walking

I spotted this door with the mural of a man with a walker and immediately pulled over for a shot just when this young man walked by.  Perfect, I thought. I'll show you a bit more of where this mural was tomorrow. The artist for this is Elicser.

Ducks And Friends

There were a lot of murals along the railway underpass that I have been showing the last few weeks. This section shows a collaboration between Nick Sweetman with his ducks and Elicser's people.  The mechanical bits must be by someone else whose name I didn't get.  The ducks steal the show I think.

Family Day

Today is Family Day in Ontario so the kids are all off school and many workplaces are closed for the day. The kids in this mural by Elicser seem to be spending the time writing notes to send to friends and family. I spotted this one out on the Danforth.

Neighbourhood Diversity

This quite long mural was painted on the side of a store along the Danforth last fall as part of a project involving several murals and artists. The artist for this one is Elicser who has certainly captured the diverse population of this neighbourhood. This particular area is dominated by the really tall minaret similar to the one in the mural. It is a great area to go for a meal since there is a restaurant serving any type of food that you could want - when we aren't in lockdown and can go to restaurants.

A Tribute

I spotted this tribute to frontline workers on the side of a garage just off Dundas St W. Those are tough workers who are out there doing all they can for the rest of us. I like how the artist worked around the advertising signs to make the whole thing work. It could be by the artist Elicser but I forgot to look for a signature.

Mural At The Tranzac Club

Two weeks ago I showed you this mural (HERE) painted by Elicser on the wall of the Tranzac Club and I remembered I had taken some pics while he was painting it. This pic was taken from the other end and you can see that there are still some heads and details to be added in places.

New Community Mural

This mural is found on the side of the Tranzac Club just south of Bloor St W and was sponsored by the city and painted by Elicser. The Tranzac club was formed in the 1930s and the name stands for Toronto Australia New Zealand Club. It is a great place for live music every day and is a favourite place for indie musicians to play.

Good Eats

This mural is found in the laneway on the side of the Dirty Bird Chicken & Waffles restaurant on Bloor St. I've never been in but apparently they serve northern-fried chicken with maple sugar seasoning on waffles as a speciality. It sounds good. This is another mural by Elicser who seems to be one of the most prominent muralists in the city now.

Big Meal

I spotted another mural by Elicser this week but there was a huge truck parked beside at least 3/4 of it so I will have to go back to see what the rest is. It is on the side of a restaurant on Bloor St W and judging by the mural they must serve a nice big milkshake. I like how the pipe has been painted to look like a straw coming out of the shake!

Cloud Nine

A pic from my archives from last autumn, this is yet another mural by Elicser. The writing below the flying guy says "I was on cloud nine for a long time" and it seems like a happy vignette to me with him floating on air behind the woman on the bike.

"One More Wave ..."

I'm back into my archives for this mural by Elicser which i found along a laneway bordering a parkette on Dundas St W. In the left bottom corner you can see "it's almost dark, one more wave then we go in". I'd rather be surfing than going through more of this cold winter weather but hopefully spring will soon arrive.

Art In The Park

This mural was done this autumn on the side of a house which borders Alexandra Park and which was a constant target for taggers. The city commissioned the artists Elicser (whose work I have shown many times) and Troy Lovegates (aka Other) to paint a piece and solve that problem but as you can see some of the taggers have been at the mural, a major no-no in the street art community.

Bloor Life

While this building on Bloor St is being renovated it has been boarded up and the artist Elicser was commissioned to decorate it with a mural. He has titled it Bloor Life and it is quite suitable with the images of the 3 old guys on a bench watching the world go by. And doesn't that fellow passing by fit in perfectly!
