"Toboggan Hill"

This is what a typical winter scene should be like here but we have no snow! This yet another of the murals from the Islington area of town and like most of them it was done by John Kuna and it is based on a photo of kids on the hill behind Montgomery's Inn many years ago. I took the pic during a walking tour of the murals in May '12 and you can see that a couple of our participants were a wee bit bored!
Update - When I pre-posted this yesterday we had no snow but a rogue stream of snow has come down through the centre of the city and we now have lots of snow downtown and through some parts of town while the sun shines in other parts! Weird.

Love that you have caught real people in this shot.

The scene in the mural is really dated. When I was a kid (1950's) snow stayed on the ground all winter.

At least all these children have their heads covered, even if it's not a helmet! (I wonder if it was as cold that day as it is here today?)

This is a great winter scene. I was just talking to my niece who lives in that rogue stream!

Today you have more snow than we have here in East Gwillimbury!

What a wonderful nostalgic scene. I always wonder if people really had that much fun, or if that is the point of nostalgic paintings, to make us feel we are missing something.

Love the two little "slightly bored" individuals and man with megaphone, I agree - great street scene shot.

Fantastic, the two kids in the foreground blend straight into the mural!

There's definitely snow where I am, although maybe not enough for a good toboggan ride. Cute mural. :)
