Inside A Church

I finally made it to a church that was unlocked during the daylight and got to see the stained glass from inside. This church, St Bernard De Clairvaux, has these tall thin windows lining all the side aisles between the Stations Of The Cross so it makes for a lovely atmosphere.

A beautiful window!

I keep getting bad luck trying to get into a church to photograph the windows. It seems there's always a mass, wedding, or funeral going on.

Looks like the ceiling was dropped after the windows were placed?

Church glass always gave me something too look at during long winding sermons. Still capture my interest.

It's always a nice surprise to find a door open, quite often they aren't through the day. So nice to see the stained glass windows from the inside, what a treat Pat.

You did well capturing all the detail! Very beautiful and warm.

Re your comment on Ocala: I thought it was tacky plastic flamingoes that reminded you of Florida! :))

This is so beautiful! We have many churches, but it is not easy to find them open outside mass hours...

I'm amazed that you found an unlocked church! I'm impressed. I wonder how many doorknobs you tried to turn before this one opened. :)

I love walking into churches and thankfully ours are mostly open. This is rather nice (but though I realise it's necessary to not freeze to death in a church, I wonder if they couldn't have done something nicer with the heaters!)
