Darkened Church

I was the only person in this darkened church the week before Christmas. It felt very solemn to have complete silence around me in such a place.

Nice one Pat. The sound of silence in a church can be overwhelming

Beautiful photo of this church. They have the Christmas tree lit up just for you.

The empty church was a perfect opportunity to make an excellent photo, and you did.

You've awakened all sorts of emotions and memories with this gorgeous photo. Even though my religious ties and feelings have faded, I remember fondly presiding at the Lutheran mass on Sundays and important holidays. I was ordained at the Episcopal cathedral in St. Louis, Missouri, which was structured very much like this church. Today, I would be perfectly at home to simply sit and meditate in such beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful photo, Pat. I like the silence in a church with no one or very few people in it.

Beautiful photo.
I, too, have lost faith with the church politics about.
They are beautiful buildings.

I like to be in an empty and quiet Church. Does God hear you better??? The lights look like rising bubbles

Churches always evoke quiet and solemn thoughts. This quiet sanctuary must have given you a peaceful feeling.
