Domed Church

This is the Ukrainian Catholic Church that has yesterday's sign out front. The golden domes certainly stood out against that blue sky on a cold Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago. I've never been by when it is open but apparently there are a few murals inside that were done by the same artist who did the one over the front door.

How curious! I just today drove over to what I took from a distance to be a mosque. Upon questioning a workman at the scene I learned that it is an addition to a Catholic church. The domes, he said, were bell towers.

The building does feature Eastern style architecture. Looks good.

I remember when churches were always open.

That's funny, I read 'doomed' instead of domed.

I love these interesting buildings.

There are a large amount of Ukrainian churches around Alberta and some of them have the most amazing murals and decor.
