Very Red

This Cardinal pic was taken through a window and he is a bit out of focus but he is so red and healthy looking that I felt he needed to be posted. When I saw him there were actually three male Cardinals chasing each other around so they were not staying still for long and thus the lack of focus.

Always had a fondness for Cardinals. There has been a pair nesting in my back yard for years, and it is also the state bird of Illinois.

They're such vivid birds. We don't have them on the west coast. It's a treat to see them.

You absolutely needed to post it! I love him! We haven't had any yet. When it gets into the depths of winter they turn up.

I have a hard time photographing cardinals and blue jays. They seem to flit away whenever I get near.
