Kensington Market Streetscape

With the streetscape theme still on the mind this pic of a street from the Kensington Market neighbourhood seems like a good fit. The Market is an old area of the city full of people and shops from all over the world. This section of the street is full of vintage shops offering all kinds of retro treasures. The Market has been under threat from large scale chain stores but the community has pressured the city a lot and so far has been successful in protecting its character.

Places like this are so unique and fun it would be a shame to lose to some big box store. I could spend hours browsing around in these shops.

I hope it can continue to maintain its character.

It would be a terrible shame if this were redeveloped. It's so appealing and has the kind of character a batch of soulless chain stores could never approach.

Great the place survives! The dolls need a place to live, too.
