Great Crates

While wandering around in the Annex neighbourhood I came upon this huge installation of planted up milk cartons out on the front steps of Walmer Road Baptist Church. The church is heavily involved in community activities and support so it was not surprising to see them providing space for another project which will provide food to people. I'll post a sign tomorrow which will give you more info.

Community gardens are wonderful for producing fresh vegetables, but I see many flowers here also.

Good to see. Community gardens seem to be quite popular here too.

This is wonderful to see. We have a church here that grows a very large garden for the local food bank each year.

Are there pots or something else inside the crates to hold the soil?
