Symbols

This fine mural by First Nation artist Philip Cote is installed out in front of Harbord Collegiate. I have no idea what all the symbols mean but I love the piece.

Hello,
It is a beautiful mural. I looked up the meaning 215 Thunderbird. The white crosses represent symbols of the scared and represent justice for the Indigenous school children. The wing span is the children's silhouettes, the black crosses represent the 215 unmarked children's graves. So sad!

Always good to see First Nation art, even if that art reminds us of a sad and violent history.
