Details

When walking through the Annex neighbourhood it was the little 'hats' on the roof pillars that caught my eye on this pair of semi-detached homes. Then I noticed how the home on the right had painted the details below the eaves to highlight them while the house on the left had just painted them over with the grey paint. I still like the pair even with the differences.

Interesting details!

Distinctive looks side by side. The right has the better window, but the left has a larger verandah.

I do like the architecture.

This semi-detached house has wonderful style and details, as you point out. The painting on the right side makes the detail stand out, but was unlikely to be original to the building. Well seen and photographed.

I like that the work under the overhang but I think highlighting the fine detail without the pale background would look better.

The contrast between the highlighted detailing and the muted grey actually gives the pair extra character, making their subtle architectural “hats” and individual personalities stand out all the more.

Beautiful houses. The houses there are different from ours here.
