Swans At The Edge

Back to the shore of Lake Ontario to see more of the swans that were all gathered there last week when I went looking for pics for this month's City Daily Photo theme pic which is "The Water's Edge". The swans all seemed quite relaxed and I was able to approach them quite closely before they seemed at all concerned. The building just visible along the shoreline is the Sunnyside Bathing Pavilion but no humans were venturing into the water that day!

I'm not used to seeing swans paddling. They live on our canal, which is a uniform depth so they jump in and start swimming straight away!

They are so beautiful. I've only seen them at a zoo.

They really do look relaxed and contented -- and of course beautiful. Nice for the theme too!

I'd love to see a few of those Tundra Swans here, though I did see ½ a dozen Trumpeters fly over today.

More than just occasional swans in Toronto at the minute! Always a pleasure to see.

I think I've seen one swan here in central Florida in 8 years. And no wonder! They're all up thar in Ontario! Sheesh!

The wine-colored highlight complements the silver architecture.

Beautiful shot! Swans are so beautiful at the water's edge! I understand we have some swans in our region (Pacific Northwest) but I've yet to spy any. So I've definitely got some swan envy going now.

What a lot of swans! Often see only pairs around here, if that. A beautiful peaceful scene.
