Former Industry On King St W

These 2 attractive Victorian buildings were built as the home for the Gurney Stove Foundry - the one on the right built in 1872 and the one on the left in 1890 as business flourished. They are among the oldest industrial buildings in Toronto but are now occupied by restaurants, clubs, high-end studios, and stores. Through the years the facades had been covered with tin and it wasn't until the present owners removed the tin and restored the buildings that their beauty was once more revealed. The interiors are all exposed brick and pine beams - lovely!

Wow, I can't even imagine covering this up with tin siding. It's a beautiful old building.

They have a classical look to them and are very similar in design to Victorian factories over here.

I love to hear about successful restorations. Did I ask you yesterday if you were OK with the flooding? I guess so, you're still here!

Your comment on Ocala brought a big grin to my face; you have a great sense of humor!

They look great, RedPat. Quite distinguished. The bicycle rider is a good addition to this image.

To hide this beautiful brick? What were they thinking?
