Urban Herb Garden

I spotted this very urban herb garden growing in plastic bins atop a storage container in a laneway behind a restaurant during my walk along Queen St W.  I love the use of space and the touch of nature as a decoration on the side of the container.

Very good use of space.

I do like the way they've used this space and the mural on what would otherwise be a drab wall.

Those animals painted on the side of the bin are also really cute! What a great way to keep this space useful. :)

How wonderful. And I guess the restaurant uses the urban 'erbs in its cuisine. Surely as good as suburban sub-'erbs for a place like Subway, for instance, but perhaps not as pollution-free as pastoral herbs from a pastor's kitchen garden.
(Don't mind me, I'm having one of those days when words take me out to play.)

Great to see so many 'wild animals' right in the heart of the city!

They clearly love their herbs, built a little screen for them as well as decorating the container.
