A Little Red Door

This little red door can be found on another of the Little Free Library installations that I stumbled across. I really love the whole concept of these libraries and hope that more pop up around the city. As you can see to the left of this one, the homeowner has built 2 raised garden plots that were full of gorgeous lettuce and tomato plants that were almost as tall as the library. Since this is the front garden of the house, I hope the veggies don't disappear in the night.

Next time you stroll by a free library, take a close-up of the books inside. Just curious as to what they have to offer.

I sort of like the idea of a "free garden", too. Why not?

I love the concept of the little free libraries. I'm not sure how it would go over in the countryside where I live.

Agree with you about the small libraries movement. Have a friend in Iowa who has one. She said it takes regular maintenance.

It is very similar to the one I have in my neighbourhood, except for the colour.

But there is no green background behind it... ;-)

I love these free libraries. I have only seen one around here. I accept the challenge to find another!

Love this sharing of books idea. People who grow veggies in their front yard are taking a huge chance that their ripened vegetables will be there when it's time to eat them, methinks.
