Celebration

I had shown you another of the signs placed along Bay St after the trees and plants had been given a wonderful new environment to attempt to survive the urban setting. Click HERE to see that one. I like this one for its wonderful Chinese proverb about planting a tree now!

It's never too late to plant a tree. One of the things we love about central Florida are all of the mighty oak trees that dominate the landscape.

That is a perfect truth be told! One of my favorite trees, an evergreen, we planted quite a few but this one is very special since it was so small and so close to the big bad snowplow for our driveway that my mother and I both worried and would cover it (with our bodies) to protect it, that was back in 1989, today, hubby wants to cut it down, he says, it's too big and it blocks the view of our house! HE'S GOT TO BE kidding right?! No way is my baby (grown-up evergreen) going down!

Of course, it always helps to plant a tree where it can grow and thrive.

I guess the only proviso is to think a bit about where you're planting it too - so they don't get too big for the environment like those in Saltaire.

Good suggestion. I think we learned a lesson from last winter's ice storm. Do not plant them close to power lines.

Did you feel compelled to plant a tree?

It's always the right time to plant a tree, IMO.

I like that proverb too! I'm wondering if there is a connection between Grosvenor Street in Toronto and the hotel I stayed in last summer, the Grosvenor Hotel near Victoria Station in London.

Trees in Toronto is certainly a controversial issue (with certain politicians!)
