Patriotic Birds

On November 11 which was Remembrance Day here, there were thousands of these small Canadian flags planted on the grounds of the Veterans Centre at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. They didn't seem to frighten the birds away from beneath the bird feeders at all as you can see from these two wee sparrows poking about.

I almost didn't notice them, they blend in pretty well

One wonders what the birds did think of them.

I like the flags ... small but noticeable and a nice memorial. The birds are a proper added touch showing their respect by keeping the grounds clean.

For the birds food is more important than fear of flags. Good Remembrance Day photo.

Animals are much smarter than what people give them credit for.

Their little hearts were probably swelling with pride. It sure made a neat layout for a photo.
