Good Eats

This Red-Breasted Nuthatch seemed to really be enjoying a few nibbles of suet. They never stay still for long but this one kept coming back for another mouthful.

That bird looks a lot like a bananaquit. Bifferent colors, similar markings. We have them frequently at out bird waterer.

Nuthatches and chickadees do spent the winter here on the northern prairie. They are one of the few birds we get to see this time of year. They need the suet to keep warm and provide energy for all that activity. Fine photo.

What a pretty bird. It's funny how some birds are always moving and some can sit very still.

Birds enjoy good tasting grub too. :)

Feeders are a lifeline for them in the cold weather.

That's the second bird I've seen photographed recently wearing that black mask. The other was a Cedar Waxwing, I believe.

Good eats, indeed. We have a whole bunch of Finches in the side yard, who are living the good life too :)

Yummy for the tummy and betting the crumbs that drop don't last long, especially if there are squirrels around.
