The Girls

These female Mallards were having a pleasant float along the Humber River looking as if they had not a care in the world. They were not even bobbing for food!

They deserve a break now the kids are off their hands. (OK so ducks don't have hands but you know what I mean).

They were just enjoying each other's company! Sometimes a friend is the best medicine.

I'm chuckling because I just came back from a hike where, for a while, I walked behind a parade of mallards. :-)

Ah, to live life as calmly as they seem to.

Perhaps they are sisters who are enjoying each others company.

I haven't seen a Mallard in qite a while. We just had four Mergansers swim by. Earlier we saw mom and three chicks, maybe it's the same group all grown up. - Margy
