Houses In Little Italy

These are typical of the houses found in Little Italy. They were originally built to be two stories high but most of them have now had the attics opened up and used as living space, usually a bedroom. The one on the left has a coach house in the back yard that is used as an apartment now. I love all of those large porches.

Typical architecture for a big country. Very nice but unheard of here in the netherlands.

Good porches bring people into contact with their neighbors making for a more cohesive neighborhood. Love the big windows in the front of these houses. Interesting photo.

Love the porches, but miss windows in the roofs.
At my parent´s house my room was under such and I sooooo loved the rain making "music".
Miss it so much living ground floor.
