A Grand Home

I showed you a coach house from the Yorkville neighbourhood a week ago (HERE) and thought I should go back and get a shot of the house it belongs to.  This is one of my favourite houses in that area. It was built in 1879 but the rounded section at the corner wasn't added until 1909. You can just see a bit of the coach house off to the left at the back.

A huge house - did more than one family live in it?

A fine old building.

A great looking place. I'd love to see inside that rounded room. It must be lovely with all that glass.

So much glass must cost them a fortune to heat, though if I could afford a house that size I suppose that would be the least of my worries.

A beautiful building, I love the rounded section and all the glass. Be nice to sit and watch people go by.

So like areas of Philadelphia in my youth!

That is wonderful! Why not go up and knock on the door and tell them you'd like to photograph the inside too.

The corner attachment is already another style but close enough to be a real addition. Try to visualize it if it was made just a year ago.
