A Windy Day

This Red-tailed Hawk was sitting high on one of the communication towers for our city transit company and was being rocked around by the high winds which seem to be so common this winter. I like the way the red of its tail shows up so well.

He must have a good grip on that steel bar he's sitting on.

Good spot. Birds rarely stay still for me.

The Hawk has a fantastic view. The last few days I have noticed that Red Winged Blackbirds and Robins have returned.

When there's no tall tree nearby this looks to be the next best thing for a bird to hand onto. :)

Birds of prey seem to like man-made structures like this, though it always looks all wrong to me.

I seldom see the red in a Red Tail Hawk. The Hawk has a great view of a possible meal from this hight. Great shot and a good eye, RedPat.

Birds of prey just love high places.

You need really a red tailed hawk eye to spot that. Good one.

Hello, :=) Super capture of the Red-tailed Hawk. It does show the red tail off so well. They have a good view of the land from this tower. Very often I see them on Electricity pylons. They are also capable of holding fast with their strong talons in high winds.
