An Urban Forest

These trees are found in the same park in the Yorkville neighbourhood as the large rock that I showed last Tuesday. I imagine those concrete rings provide a place to sit and also keep dogs from peeing up against the tree trunks. The trees look happy.

I have never seen threes ringed like this, except perhaps along a sidewalk. The trees do look happy.

I wonder if the rings are a way of keeping moisture around the trees? Interesting effect anyway.
