When you get to the top of the stairs leading up to Casa Loma from Davenport Rd this is the view you get. The stone wall is perfect for the Casa don't you think?
It always seems strange to me how battlements became such a popular decorative feature, with no thought to making them look in the least bit functional. Even so, it's a magnificent building.
