This noble creature is found by the main entrance to the Lillian H Smith Library on College St and does a fine job guarding this place of knowledge. This library is part of the Toronto Public Library system and it is known for containing an extensive collection of children's books as well a collection of science fiction. I think he is a Lion Griffin.
I was visiting a friend in a building along University Ave and caught this reflection in a government building across the road. It was fascinating to see the exhaust from the tall chimney reflected so well in the windows.

Tim Hortons is probably the most popular coffee and doughnut place in Canada with thousands of locations across the country so it is fitting that they had a float in the Santa Claus Parade. The doughnuts looked so real that the little charmer in front of the float was refusing to leave and wanted someone to lift her up to touch the treats!
There were lots of polar bears in the Santa Claus Parade this year and they seem to be quite good at skating. This float was sponsored by Canadian Tire which is the go-to place in Canada for sports equipment as well as auto things so it is suitable that their float feature sports. Once the parade got underway, little kiddies were sitting in the toboggan.

Back to the Santa Claus Parade pics - I have had a bit of flu and then a cold so haven't been out for many new pics the last couple of weeks. When you go down to see the floats before the parade, many of them are having work done to them and in this pic you can see a man busily working away on this one. I had just watched them attaching the end pieces to each wing on the plane as I assume the float was too wide to go through traffic to this starting line with them attached.
Taking a break from Santa Claus Parade pics, here is another of the line drawings done by Anser - this one found in a laneway just down the street from last week's 4 head piece. I've never seen one upside down before and wonder if he was challenging himself to see how well he would do.

Another one of the small floats from the Santa Claus Parade, this one features one of my favourite nursery rhymes. The king's men look ready to catch Humpty before he falls this time!
