"The Audience"

Although not one of my favourite sculptures in the city "The Audience" by renowned Toronto artist Michael Snow is one of the most visible. It consists of 2 groupings of figures high over the north entrances to our baseball stadium, The Rogers Centre (previously known as the Skydome). The sculpture, installed in 1989, represents sports fans in various poses of celebration and I decided to show this one because of the photographer in the bottom row - another sculpture of a photographer - hurray!

You're right - I don't think much of it either, even with a photographer!

I like it :)

I think it is entertaining. More decoration than fine art, but fun nonetheless.

Hee hee, I think it's very compelling, even if it does lack something aesthetically.

I can't say I like it, but it's a fun sculpture anyway! The photographer is the best part of it. ;-)
Have a good weekend!

i think that jack has put it accurately - a decorative piece and not necessarily art. it does play well to the fans that go to the ball park and your photo is great as i know that getting a good angle on this piece is quite difficult. thanks redpat. i also loved the previous photo (the laneway loft) - like a story that one!

It's a 3D cartoon. I suppose we should be grateful for anything interesting around a baseball stadium!

Interesting to say the least.

I actually find this a bit disturbing.

While not my favorite, (you have such great out door art in your city) I really do love it. It is placed in such a way though that it is hard to photograph, you did a super job.

I guess you were at the CN Tower recently? ;)
My MiL had a hard time understanding this sculpture. I think it's hard for Europeans to understand the North American fascination with sports. :)

This I will remember!:)
