Camouflaged

The Chipmunk and the female Cardinal really blend into their background of fallen seeds from the bird feeder above them. These two seemed to get along quite well and continued to eat side by side for quite awhile.

They blend beautifully into the background, hoping this helps them evade any predators.

We have plenty of Cardinals, but I never see chipmunks here. They are so cute!

They seem to have established a truce. Both get to feed to their hearts content. Good wildlife shot.

They're happily at work in my backyard right now undermining by patio and basement. :-)

A busy time of year for both. Different animals can get along a lot better than some people.

I saw the chipmunk right away but it took me a minute to see the cardinal . They seem perfectly happy sharing the bounty.

Oh my gosh, they certainly are! I just noticed a toad this morning that at first I thought was a leaf!

This is a terrific photo. And they're so well camouflaged I probably wouldn't have noticed them if you hadn't mentioned they were there. Hope you have a great weekend, Pat!

Yes, the females are generally colored in such a way that they do not attract predators to the nest.

Judging from what activity I've seen so far from these fellows, we're headed for a tough winter here.
