Sunset Shuffle

My reason for going to Ward's Island was to watch the Sunset Shuffle a 6K race that takes place there on a Thursday evening every summer. The race is limited to just a few hundred  runners and always fills up quickly because of the location and because of the great after- race party which is sponsored by a local brewery. In the pic the runners are getting their final instructions before the horn goes off.

So the question is, are they running for their health or are they running for beer.

No beer bellies in this group. :-)

Lots of people will run for a beer but only to their local pub. :)

I just got an image of a few hundred people shuffling along there for 6k.. but I see some pretty buff bods there Pat, so pretty sure that's won't be the case 😉

I won't run for much, but I will certainly run for beer! It sounds like a great event.

I used to run and the time leading up to the start was when I was most nervous for some reason! Sounds like a fun race!

A fun race. A 6K? That is a distance I haven't seen before.
