Ladies

I spotted this painted utility box on College St on the U of Toronto campus. The artist for this one is Keight MacLean, a recent art school graduate whose work shows where "historical influences meet modern techniques". It does remind one a bit of the old masters - not what you expect to find in such a location.

Indeed, that is not what one would expect on a utility box. I like it. I wonder what the story is behind it.

Hello,

It is different than the usual utility box murals. Still lovely though.
Enjoy your day, have a great new week ahead!

Very pretty, very grand for an utility box and I agree with you it does remind me of an old masters painting.
Thanks for contributing Pat.

Interesting! I would like to see the sides, too, as the scene seems to continue around there.
Have a wonderful week!

I'm enthusiastic about art on utility boxes! I wonder if it's spontaneous or organized by municipalities or by utility companies. We have it too (Ann Arbor, MI).

Yes, hard to believe it is a mural. Your city seems to have such beautiful art in public places.

Another well done piece, and quite different from the last one you showed us.

It's beautifully done Pat. I had a look at her Facebook page, she's a super talented artist.
