#Unignorable

I don't tweet but this sign from the United Way certainly grabbed my attention as I walked past. As part of their fundraising campaign this fork really gets the message across to "Help Make Hunger Unignorable". I think it is brilliant.

Any sign such as this that would raise consciousness of a serious problem is most welcome. I'm amazing to find out that many millions of people in the U.S. go hungry every night. And yet our First Lady can spend almost $100,000 for one night's stay in a fancy Egyptian hotel. Such disparity cannot last. I hope.

A clever image, RedPat.

You asked how often potential photo subjects turn me down. Women say yes about 80 percent of the time, but men only say OK about 30 percent of the time. Men are more skeptical and want to know what the angle is. Of course, by now I have figured out which are the likely prospects. The best are the ones who make eye contact with me and smile. When that happens, I just have to decide if the person looks like they would be interesting enough to approach. If a person looks sour and is fastidiously avoiding looking at me, it won't be worth my time.
