A Legend

Tim Hortons is the largest fast food restaurant chain in Canada, famous for its coffee and doughnuts and named after the legendary hockey player, Tim Horton. I can walk to at least 5 of the outlets in a short time. Tim founded the chain with a partner and was involved in the operation until his death in a car accident in 1974. This is the first time I have seen this pic of Tim displayed outside one of the shops so I had to stop. He was a rough and tough defenceman with our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and was with them to win 4 Stanley Cup championships in the 1960s. They haven't won again since 1967!

You can't beat coffee and doughnuts in the morning!
I was surprised to see in our local newspaper this morning that Mississippi has a Doughnut Trail! There is a map showing the best places to get doughnuts all across the state. I am going to have to check that out!
Have a great day!

I knew Tim Horton's was a restaurant, but thank you for the history. Yes, I remember when the Maple Leafs were unbeatable. My Chicago Blackhawks did not stand a chance back then.

And in another hundred years, Leafs fans will still be saying, 'this year, baby, this year!'

There's no shortage of Tims here, but I don't like coffee or doughnuts.

I didn't know the Tim Horton story so I'm glad to know it now. He was a handsome fellow, that's for sure.

It has always amazed me how close one Tims is to another lol! I was somewhere once where I could see a Tims from the Tims I was at!

Are the coffee and donuts delicious. Sounds popular, with so many restaurants in the area. Wishing you a great day!

...my niece owns 9 stores in the Western New York area and I would bet that almost no one knows who Tim Horton is in this area today. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your week.

I usually avoid such chain stores but Tim Hortons' are just great. I didn't know the back story, so thanks.

I've seen one of these in Victoria as I passed on a bus. I didn't know who Tim Horton was, though.
