Skating At Christie Pits

The rink at Christie Pits park was pretty busy last week on what was a fairly warmish day for us at this time of year (+5˚C). I am not sure about the protocols for getting skate times are this year but last year you had to book in advance and only for a certain length of time. Not like the old times when you could spend the day there.

I don't think there are booking times on a couple of the larger outdoor rinks I can think of here.

The lakes are frozen in Haninge, and one of the two lakes at Rudan usually sees a lot of young skaters, I will have check that out on my next visit.

Guess what....
It's open but going to an outdoor rink you must complete Toronto Public Health’s COVID-19 screening questions and if you do not pass the screening, you should not visit.

Not an activity I've ever tried - and I'm certainly not starting now!

I used to skate as a kid, but haven't in a very long time. Enjoyed playing pickup hockey games back then, but those days are well past. These days skating rinks are good photo opportunities.

I've never ice skated. Roller skates turned out rather poorly so I never tried this graceful sport. Too late now.
