A new optical shop has just opened on College St and they have had this cool mural of John Lennon, wearing his famous glasses, painted in their entrance. The artist for this is Douglas VanAsselstine who seems to be involved in a lot of the art scene going on in nearby Kensington Market.
Taking part in Monday Murals. Click here for more murals.
That's cool! I bet this mural will attract a lot of babyboomers to the optical shop!
Very nicely done and clever of the store to use this image to advertise its business.
I do like the colour scheme they used.
Hee! My first thought was Harry Potter! Perhaps I shouldn't admit that? :)
I like this a lot. Iconic picture of Mr. Lennon. Imagine that! :)
Wonderfully lifelike, great work!
When I think of famous glasses I think of Dame Edna Everage!
Those glasses came back into fashion in the last decade but I see them less often now. I like the cool blue colors the artist used.
Very effective portrait of John Lennon. While I can easily imagine stopping to study it, I don't think it would prompt me to walk in the door. But it definitely adds to the cityscapte. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
This is a really cool mural with a face that easily identifiable. Nice find.

Ahhh! ! John Lennon, the world lost an amazing artist the day he was shot.. Fab mural Pat.
I was thinking Harry Potter when I first saw this. It never occurred to me that Potter and Lennon looked so much alike!
Very cool ... those glasses were so much part of his image.
What a great find!!
