I went by the old Honest Ed's development site lately after hearing on the news that it will be about a year until it is all finished. It was nice to see that these old buildings along Markham St have all been restored and are waiting for new windows. The first building on the right used to be a cafe and the others housed galleries and studios. It will be interesting to see what happens to them. Those high rises behind are all to be rental apartments with some at affordable rents.

Quite a contrast.

It's good to know that there are some affordable places being built these days. I love the older, brick buildings. They have character.

I am glad not to be living in a high rise, but humans are pretty adaptable and can make a decent life in many situations.

What a beautiful photo. These old buildings in front of the large new buildings look very charming.
Very pleased to see.
Kind regards from Viola

That is good the handsome red brick buildings are being restored. I have never lived in a high rise and never wanted to, no matter the rent. I like my one story house and gardens. Some people thrive in high rises, I know.

I love those old brick buildings, glad they're being restored. I don't think I would like to live in a high rise building.

It's great that old houses are being renovated and not demolished to make way for new ones.
