Winter Is Here

We escaped all the big snow storm but winter has arrived in Toronto with the opening of all the outdoor rinks that the city runs. This one at Christie Pits park was not yet open for the day but will soon be in heavy use.

Ice skating rinks are another indication that winter has arrived. I loved skating as a kid, but those days are now long past.

I don't know if our outdoor rink is usable yet. It has been cold enough -- at least up until today.

Snow is everywhere

I wondered if it is a rink or a frozen over swimming pool.

No snow left here, but the ice rinks are open.

They don't usually have outdoor skating rinks in our cities, apart from a few 'pop-up' ones that stay for a couple of weeks.

I have not skated since I was a kid, at a ice rink that looked similar to this one. Take care, have a great day.
