Windy Day

It was a cold and windy day when I noticed this squirrel hunkered down in a tree near my deck. It was there for at least 15 minutes with the wind blowing at its back. I think it was trying to use its tail as a blanket but I'm not sure how successful that was. Eventually the cold creature moved off to a more protected location.

That's kind of how I feel this morning. I just walked out on the balcony and was there less than a minute. Brrrr. It will warm up later today.

Not seen the squirrels at my place lately, we got some snow today so they need to stay warm best they can.

A warm drink will do him fine and take some of the chill away.

As will a belly full of nuts, Bill. :-)

Your story paints such a vivid picture of that little squirrel braving the elements! Nature never ceases to amaze with how creatures adapt to their environments, even in the harshest conditions. Watching the squirrel use its tail as a makeshift blanket shows just how resourceful wildlife can be. I'm glad it found a more sheltered spot eventually.

Critters do have a hard time with the cold this time of year. Poor squirrel.
