The Elm Trees

The fellow who put up the sign I showed last week about Rose the wild turkey has also put a sign up by this large elm tree found across the road from Christie Pits park. Gone are the days when streets were lined with these gorgeous large trees. I will show you a pic tomorrow that I took recently of this tough survivor.

Elm trees can use a sign honoring their passing away from our landscapes. They used to be a common shade tree in Midwestern towns, but they are now gone.

It's nice that this tree has been honored this way. Many people don't know how elm trees were ravaged by disease.

We've lost so many trees here. It is awful.
