Lacking Something
This is yet another pic taken along St Clair Ave in the Forest Hill neighbourhood and it shows Holy Rosary Catholic Church which was built in 1927 to replace a much smaller chapel that had been used since 1892. The new church was modeled after the 15th century Gothic church, St Mary The Virgin in St Neots, Huntingdonshire, England but when looking at that church you can't help but notice the grand bell tower it has. I could find no info on why there is no tower or steeple here but apparently there are beautiful stained glass windows that I couldn't see since the church was locked. I may have to start going to mass on Sundays in order to get inside these churches!

I've commented on this before, but it's kind of sad that churches have to be locked now. They certainly weren't when I was a kid.
A church without a steeple, now that does seem a little odd Pat.. I've noticed most of the churches here are locked too when they're not in use.. Such a shame that its come to this hey..
it does need a little something for a spire. :)

It's still beautiful without a steeple. But I don't think it's worth going to mass to get inside! :)

It does look really weird without the bell tower.
They probably ran out of money - that's the case with a number of church buildings in the UK.
You do feel the absense of it in this case.

I like it but I must say that it does look like it is missing something.
I would love to go inside and see the windows.

Maybe we need to wait a while until they raise the money for a tower. (And, I have posted an intemperate rant about locked churches, myself.)

It is a shame the churches are locked. They are locked here in the boonies too.
It does look quite oddly shaped!
I hope they will reuse it. The building deserves it.
