St Mary's Mosaic

This is a close-up of the mosaic found on yesterday's church. It was done by Italian artist Vincenzo Vanin who lived in Canada in the 1960s and early 70s and did several mosaics here.

I noticed the mosaic straight off in yesterdays shot Pat, looks beautiful in close detail, a very good use of colour, they work so well together.

These remind me of old world churches.

Just think of the attention to detail that work like this requires. I could NEVER do this. No patience.

Beautiful colours. It interested me that an ITALIAN did the mosaic on a UKRAINIAN church in CANADA. :)

Once again I am awed by mosaics. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
